A case of the Mondays

We have heard this phrase chime in and out of workplaces since Moses in the desert, I bet you their Mondays sucked a lot more than yours. Moses aside, the only time I feel the "case of the Mondays" anymore is when I spent the days prior doing things that didn't really benefit me, the people around me, or build in positive ways.

Im not saying spend your time not living at having enjoyable moments, but what I am saying is you control your own fulfillment. Break up your week to work, family, and you life.

Now we know what work and family entails, but what about the YOU?? Shit thats a kinda serious question now right? Who are you? What things do you enjoy? Where do you find fulfillment? Are you completing activities out of felt obligation? Or... is it because they legitimately are meaningful and rewarding to you?

I always say your "YOU" needs to include physical activity as frequently as possible, now me im a weights, blood, guts and iron guy, that was my outlet, that was always the thing that generated the most fulfillment. Now this doesn't need to be your YOU, but it should be included somewhere, just because being weak on the physical level doesn't benefit anyone, it doesn't help you, it doesn't benefit your mental space, and it legitimately de-prepares you for life and living for numerous reasons.

Now something that may not have been touched on yet is are you even prepared to find your YOU. Your physical activity that benefits you the most. The start to this falls into simply getting in shape to be prepared for trying different activities. I have found over the years and my own experiences in body pain, injury and mental toughness. That you are truly less likely to try something your not physically capable of. Im not talking a little increase of weight on a set or a extra half mile in a run.

I am talking about the want to go rock climbing when you cant get out of a chair without back pain. I am talking about playing with your kids when your knee hurts to walk up the stairs. I am talking about playing soccer, or intramural football or some other sport when you can feel that vague feeling of backspin when you sneeze too hard. Or the twinge in your ankle from when you broke it ten years ago.

Physical capabilities are important to build just plainly for quality of life but they also are important to open your body and mind to the capability to simply explore new things that might just be your jam.

You might dislike weight training, but you sure as hell might love running. Wouldn't becoming a better runner benefit your quality of life? So I guess what I am saying here is we should actively be searching for things that 1 aid our quality of life, and 2 things that pour more into the bucket that is YOU. Build quality of life by bettering physical capability and opening your door to new p[potentials you may never have felt capable of trying.
